When I first heard about the scheme, there were loads of questions going through my head. Could I really be managing my own branch inside 2 years? Would I be provided with sufficient support and resources to achieve both my short term goals and long term objectives? After a lot of research and an ‘overall good feeling’ about the company, I left a better paid job to move to Enterprise. And I’ve never looked back.
What did you look for when choosing a career?
First and foremost I always liked the idea of being my own boss. Enterprise offers realistic opportunities to achieve and progress in your career within a matter of months. And they’re not just looking at qualifications. They are equally interested in the candidate as a person. The company is looking for charismatic, bright individuals who find it natural to work within a team.
What's the best thing about working at Enterprise?
No other company offers such great opportunities for promotion. They promote solely from within and due to company growth, you won’t have to wait long for your chance. With over 6,900 locations worldwide and 2-3 branches being added every business day, there is plenty of opportunity to shape your future. Not to mention the opportunity to drive some fantastic cars!
What's the working atmosphere like?
As each location has a relatively small number of staff, strong bonds are formed among the employees. An average branch may consist of 6-8 employees. Each employee is really dependent on the other. The branch cannot function with anything less than a friendly, humorous and healthy working atmosphere.
Tell us about where you see your career going
I hope to be in a position to apply for an Assistant Branch Manager role in a couple of months which would mark my seventh month as an Enterprise employee. In two years time from now, I want to be a Branch Manager and managing a successful operation as well as helping to mentor future Enterprise employees. I want to be able to look back in a couple of years and know that I really made a difference and contributed enormously to making ‘my’ business and ultimately ‘our’ business a real success.
